Design and Layout :
In conjunction to the game which originated from fantasy characters, WoW website implemented dark colors to its website layout. The colors used represent mystique and magical effects in which the game heavily relied on.
Despite the multi coloured background, the text font and text colors are good contrast against the background. Hence, text clarity is not an issue as players are able to view the contents easily without straining their eyes.
WoW made use of a large portion of the center page to publish latest news updates. This is to make sure the players are notified of current news and events as soon as they visit the website. Around the website we can see quite a number of quick links to the most frequently visited page such as the download page, the screenshots page, and the beginner's guide section. These links are arranged neatly so as to not confuse players.
Flash Video :
Apart from the ingenious creation of the background and quicklinks, WoW also included some flash video. The relatively small sized flash video does not affect the loading speed of the website. Despite the size of it, it will not fail to amaze anyone with regards to the graphic quality and information it intends to pass on.
Main Menu Bar :
Next, let us have a look at the main menu bar, which is situated at the left side of the website. Do not be deceived by its simplicity. Being simple means it reduces loading time significantly. Fancy menu will just prolong the loading time and this may frustrate players who have slower connection.
From the screenshot on the left, we can see that the menu opens up a sub menu as we hover our mouse over to the links. This makes information searching easier and faster. Players do not have to spend a lot of time to look for an answer.
The main menu sections are arranged according to level of importance. Starting from the top, we have the news section, followed by the account section, game guide, Workshop, Media, Forums, Community and lastly the Support Section.
Online Store : 
WoW website also spot an online store which sells WoW softwares and merchandise as well as the other game titles produced by Blizzard. This is to facilitate easier access to the game softwares and expansion titles. Players are able to purchase the game directly from the website, which saves them time to look for the installation pack in their respective cities.
